Dermal Fillers

RESTORE FACIAL VOLUME

Dermal fillers can be used to correct volume loss, recontour the face, achieve facial symmetry, plump up and shape the lips, and richly hydrate the skin from within.

Over time, our natural production of collagen and elastin breaks down as part of the ageing process, along with a loss of hydrating hyaluronic acid in the skin, leading to lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and dryness. Dermal fillers deliver immediate results, adding volume, smoothing out lines and wrinkles, and restoring a more youthful appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do dermal fillers work?

In youth, collagen and elastin are continually renewed in the skin, but from the age of 30 that production drops away. Volume is lost in the skin, which can result in a more gaunt, tired appearance. Dermal fillers work by replenishing the skin with hyaluronic acid gel, reshaping facial contours while stimulating new production of collagen and elastin.

  • Can dermal filler be used to reshape my lips?

Lip enhancement is one of the most popular applications of dermal fillers. Lost volume affects the lips as much or more than anywhere else, developing a variety of lines and creases in, above, and around the lips, all of which can be treated by dermal fillers.

  • Do dermal filler injections hurt?

At our Harrow and Pinner Clinics, you will be offered a topical anaesthetic (cream) before treatment to ensure the procedure is pain-free.

  • Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are widely considered to be an extremely safe treatment and have been used reliably and with increasing popularity across the globe for many years. Because hyaluronic acid is a natural bodily product, allergic reactions are extremely rare.

  • Are there different types and quality of dermal filler?

Absolutely. Some low end, walk-in aesthetic clinics use cheaper fillers that can clump beneath the skin. At the Laser Clinic we only use fillers with proven reputations –  Juvederm, Teosyal, and Restylane.

  • How should I care for the area following dermal filler treatment?

    • Don’t touch the treatment area until it is fully healed
    • Avoid applying makeup for at least 12 hours
    • Stay away from exposure to intense heat, such as saunas or hot showers
    • Avoid intensive physical exercise for 48 hours
  • How long do the results last?

Dermal fillers can last up to 12 – 15 months.
